Lost '80s Live!

20080419127

Oops, so the title of the concert was Lost '80s Live and not '80s Live as I had thought earlier. And yay, the boyfriend scored some complimentary tickets since there were a number of empty seats.

The bands were When In Rome, Real Life, and Flock of Seagulls (in the same order).

I was a bit disappointed with When In Rome because the lead sounded very different live. It was as if another band was just covering The Promise. His voice kind of reminded me of Nickelback's lead, hence the disappointment. But I guess the energy generated in the venue helped me not to be THAT disappointed.

Real Life (well, ONE member of real life) did pretty well and his voice very much reminds me of Pet Shop Boys' vocalist's.

It was painful when Flock of Seagulls performed because they decided to play their new songs (a bit on the rock side), which was not received very well by the audience. Although they played about 10 songs, it was sad because by the time they played their popular '80s hits, about half of the people had already walked out. I'm glad I stayed though to hear Telecommunication, Space Age Love Song, I Ran, The More You Live The More You Love, and Wishing (Photograph).

I had a lot of fun watching people reminisce and dance those weird steps (Think Bagets). It was cool.

Above is a picture of Flock of Seagulls. I couldn't help but think about Meatloaf when I saw their lead singer. :P

Rick Astley and Tony Hadley (of Spandau Ballet) will likewise be performing at Araneta Coliseum (August 1 and August 9, respectively). I wanna watch Rick Astley! I bet that's going to be fun! Haha!
