another wedding

Yay! This time there was no dreaded bouquet-throwing activity! They totally did away with it. Hehe. :P

Last weekend, I headed to Batangas with the boyfriend and his family to attend his cousin's wedding. It was a nice and simple celebration with a limited number of guests.

It was my first time at the beautiful Transfiguration Chapel in Calaruega, Batulao, Batangas. Unfortunately, we were unable to catch a glimpse of the more famous Chapel on the Hill nearby (where a lot of people have been getting married recently), so I couldn't make a comparison. A lot of people have gone on retreats in the area, and I agree that it is absolutely conducive for meditation and prayer.

The reception was at Sonya's Garden, but I'm sure it would have been better during the day so that people could enjoy the scenery. But they did a good job decorating the place so it wasn't so bad. The couple also had some meat brought in from Alba since not everyone is really into, as my dad once called it, "damo". :P

Here's some info I got from Weddings at Work:

Oh yeah my tita got married there last year. Although we didn't go to the wedding ceremony, my relatives were telling us that the chapel is so uber gorgeous. Then she had the reception at Antonio's. I like her wedding, it's very intimate and pretty laid-back. Oh well, weddings... Hahahaha!!! Oh yeah, that was the day we had a car accident in SLEX... that same day, it was my birthday... Hay such is life!

you know, calaruega is not as good as it's hyped up to be. sure the area is fairly nice but it's small, and the surroundings are well.. a mess. there's not even any decent parking.

have you ever had dinner at antonio's? very posh and expensive, but quite worth it if you do it once in a while. it's about 2500 per head, i think. i ate there with some friends and it cost us 18K for the entire dinner.

Well, yeah, the road going to Calaruega is not really a road... but it's nice and secluded... I would like to go on a retreat there someday... I'm sure you'll really get to reflect in that place.

Haven't been to Antonio's yet... just Breakfast at Antonio's... I'd only probably go there with my pay-rents. HEHE.

Hehehe I like that... Pay-rents.... Hehehehe!!! Hay naku it's so expensive nga in Antonio's... But the food is good, especially the fograis salad. So sulit naman... sa nagbabayad, in fairnes... Hihihi!!! Aside from the food, I love the bohemian interiors. Lalo na the vintage photos... Galeng galeng!! I love it!
