Over dinner last night, my sister told us about this guy who was struck by lightning somewhere in Batangas just recently. Their caretaker told them the story when they were at their beach house last weekend.
There was an employee party and the man decided to just stay home and rest. He was lying in bed inside their nipa when lightning struck through the roof and straight into his body. Unfortunately, his feet weren't planted on the ground, so he absorbed all of it.

hmm... I dunno...
wait.. that's impossible. the lighting still has to dissipate somehow. if he absorbed it all, he should've exploded.
the bed he was on was still connected to the hut, and the hut to the ground.
Well, fine, maybe not all, but most. Lightning will look for its way to the ground. But he was in bed with his legs up, so after him the lightning would have probably gone to the bed... but it wouldn't have reached the ground anymore.
I don't think his body would have necessarily exploded...
There's this guy on the Guiness Book of World Records who was struck by lightning a total of seven times. It's amazing he's still alive...
I remember before, here in Metro Manila, this electrician was fixing something on the electric post and I guess he kinda touched a wire or something. His lower body was stuck on the post and his upper body fell to the ground. Yuck...
