my good deed

For the first time in my entire life, I was able to donate blood today! :D I didn't feel dizzy or anything. I have more than enough nutrients to nourish myself. Bwahaha.

When my dad had his heart bypass surgery, all my siblings couldn't give him any blood because they are all type A's and my dad is a type O. I was only in fourth grade and I was too young to even be tested.

I tried donating in college. I was still skinny then, and they didn't allow me to share my blood because I was underweight. Well now I definitely am not underweight, so that wasn't an issue.

I found out fairly recently that my blood type is the same as my dad's. O is the universal donor, so ever since that happened I've always wanted to donate blood. You never know who might need it.

Apparently they don't suggest that females donate blood until a week after the last day of menstruation... mine just ended yesterday, but luckilly when they tested my hemoglobin and blood pressure levels, they decided that my body could handle it.

They drained about 350cc, which is the smallest container, since it was my first time.

I feel really good about myself. :) It hurt a bit, but it was all worth it.

don't worry, it's not so bad... :) I couldn't look at the needle, it was so big! I was kinda shaking nga eh. But the doctor was really nice, and I was so glad she got it in one try. Hehe. :D

re: universal receiver

sorry to bear the bad a9828 news but though that is chemically
possible it's not the practice of modern health :) they will as much as possible match blood type with blood type

as well as the RH+ or RH-
